Street-Jones & Snell Buildings

Type: Commercial
Size: 54,000 square feet
Builder: Faulkner

The Austin Revitalization Authority began the $12.4M, 54,000 sq. ft. redevelopment of Street-Jones and Snell Buildings on 11th Street in 2004 and achieved 100% tenant occupancy in 2011.

The architectural style is neo-traditional, and the exterior brick finish is reminiscent of the early commercial development. The two buildings share 172 parking spaces and 18 community parking spaces less than one block away for a total of 190 spaces.

Named in honor of three prominent East 11th Street businessmen and civic leaders, the Street-Jones and Snell buildings both house retail businesses on the first floor and office spaces on the remaining floors.

The project was considered a success with anchor tenants, City of Austin Neighborhood Housing and Community Development Office and Wells Fargo Bank , both in the Street-Jones building. In addition, the Equal Employment/Fair Housing Office, a department of the City of Austin is a tenant in the Snell building.

Style-Rite Beauty Salon has been a fixture on East 11th Street since the early ’70s. Style-Rite remains a bustling business, serving three generations of clients. Sub-tenants in the Street-Jones include: Office of Sustainability, and Women, Infants and Children (W.I.C.).
